Fabrizio Sacchetti

Fabrizio Sacchetti was born in 1969 in Italy, where he lives and works.
Often using his body, he works with photography, performance and video, with, according to Peter Weiermair, "a gestuality and a use of color that have an artistic history very much tied to Italy. Profoundly linked to the art of the Renaissance, of which he translates the images in action, Sacchetti renounces completely the rhetoric of the past generation of artists who created performances working with their bodies." He has exhibited since 1991. Among many, at the Premio Agenore Fabbri 2009-2010, Galleria La Nuova Pesa, Roma, Marjorie Wood Gallery, San Francisco, Ursula Blickle Stiftung, Kraichtal, Istituto Italiano di Cultura Madrid/Medialabmadrid, Galerie Rachel Haferkamp, Köln, Palazzo Cavour, Torino, The Lab, San Francisco. An anthology of his work was published in 2007, edited by Peter Weiermair.

His work is included in the collection of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, the Museum of Contemporary Photography Ken Damy, the Museo Abruzzese della Fotografia, and the Museo Laboratorio Ex Manifattura Tabacchi.
